The Four A's
|

To borrow something from the lawyers, it's often said that you should select your legal brains by considering four factors: availability, affability, affordability and ability. The same goes for psychologists:
Availability. The chances are that you have a particular project in mind, or require some timely advice. Naturally you want to talk to a professional as soon as possible. In consequence I always respond quickly, but take time to understand your needs, and what you would consider to be a successful outcome.
Affability. We are all to varying degrees in the 'people' business. So it's vital that you find someone that you can work with comfortably. I take pains to get to know my clients and how they wish to work. In particular whether their preference is for a formal, or more relaxed way of operating.
Affordability. Obviously it's going to cost something to use my services. But I am an expert in helping organisations to increase their performance, and it would be surprising if my interventions did not make sense from a financial perspective. I measure success by whether you think your money has been well spent.
Ability. You should always use a qualified psychologist with experience across business sectors. A track record does count, and frankly you need someone who has been there and done it. I have experience of working with organisations of all shapes and sizes, on individual selection exercises to large scale change projects.
Plus a fifth,
Applicability. You need an applied solution, something that will work. Everything I do is rooted in sound science with a strong business focus. In short I help you to apply business psychology to your selection, development and people management problems, in a way that you will find is refreshingly free of jargon.
