About Dr Mark Parkinson
Mark is a highly qualified Chartered Occupational Psychologist and a Principal Member of the Association of Business Psychologists. He is an authority on the psychology of entrepreneurs (196KB pdf) and 'high stakes' selection situations. In particular recruitment to critical executive & managerial positions, and assessment prior to extensive and expensive training, such as in medicine, or military pilot selection.
He has worked with commercial, educational and not-for-profit organisations such as Amnesty International, British Airways, British Aerospace, Balfour Beatty, Cabair, DHL, The Guardian, Kent & Sussex Careers Services, McCain Foods, Royal Mail, Tarmac and Xerox, a number of Universities & Government departments, plus many SMEs.
Mark consults on an individual basis to organisations of all sizes, and also works with Team Focus Ltd. He acts on behalf of Team Focus with clients that include Aberdeen Asset Management, Bayer, Elexon, Kier, Pearson and Waitrose. Prior to his work as an independent consultant he was a Director of the Bluewater Partnership Ltd & Senior Psychologist at the Morrisby Organisation.
Other affiliations: Mark is a Chartered Scientist, member of the British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology, and one of the few psychologists in the UK who is a Registered EuroPsy Psychologist. And more recently, because of his contribution to aviation psychology, he was elected to professional membership of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
